Workshop: Core Biopsy
Core Biopsy (Hands-On)
Core needle biopsy (CNB) is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure used to obtain tissue from a lesion or tumor for histopathological analysis. This technique is the first choice in many cases due to its high accuracy, low risk of complications, and ability to guide further therapy planning. However, performing CNB requires
in-depth understanding of the indications, preparation, and handling of challenges that may occur during the procedure.
Workshop Objectives
The purpose of this workshop is to improve participants' understanding and skills in core needle biopsy (CNB) techniques, ranging from indications, preparation, to troubleshooting during the procedure. This workshop aims to equip participants with evidence-based knowledge and practical experience, so that they can perform CNB procedures effectively, safely, and accurately to support diagnosis and more optimal therapy planning for patients.
Competency
Understand CNB Indication and Preparation:
- Able to determine clinical indications and perform proper preparation of tools and patients before the procedure.
- Able to Perform Core Needle Biopsy Appropriately: Master the technique of performing CNB effectively and safely.
- Identify and Overcome Obstacles in CNB: Able to recognize technical challenges during the procedure and implement appropriate solutions.
- Analyze Biopsy Results Well: Understand the steps adequate tissue sampling for histopathology analysis.
- Integrating CNB in Clinical Practice: Able to apply CNB as part of minimally invasive diagnostics.
